Since the beginning of the year I have been preparing to play Escapades – John Williams’s alto saxophone concerto – with the Deutsche Filmorchester Babelsberg. This has been a long-term ambition and it was great fun last week recording the first movement in the magnificent Babelsberger Film Studio.
In just under a month’s time my octet will be doing a small series of concerts in the UK. The band features a really eclectic mix of musicians from the German, Dutch and UK jazz scenes, and I’m really looking forward to presenting this project for the first time in Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford and London.…
Recorded earlier this year in Berlin, the octet’s second album is now mixed and mastered and I am looking forward to its release with Ubuntu Music in 2023. More info to come soon
